Attvaran – An Assistive Technology Startup Accelerator 

Attvaran, an Assistive Technology (AT) startup accelerator, is a collaborative initiative by the University College London, IIT Delhi, Global Disability Innovation Hub and IIT Madras. Attvaran’s mission is to empower early-stage innovators and entrepreneurs working on developing affordable assistive technologies for people with disabilities and the elderly in India and other parts of the world. It aims to augment start-up growth by bringing all actors of the AT ecosystem, including customers, experts with the lived experience of disability, business mentors, advisors, technical experts, and investors, to start-ups to address technical, social, market and business challenges. 

The first iteration of a six-month acceleration program, beginning in July 2024, offers an intense journey that will transform you and your business. Founders of newly formed AT start-ups are encouraged to apply to learn the essential aspects of entrepreneurial success, such as need validation, product design to ensure product-market fit, iterative prototyping and testing, understanding your consumers, customer acquisition strategies, business model development, go-to-market strategy and leadership.
