Transformative Dialogues - DLN: Global

What is ‘DLN: Global’

DLN: Global will profile and amplify stories from the Disabled Leaders Network (DLN’s) global membership, while also creating moments of discussion and dialogue.  By supporting and profiling disabled leadership we aim to build momentum, share insights and enhance the visibility of disabled talent with a focus on low- and middle- income countries.

We know that to create change at a local, national or international scale disabled leadership is required. Active and influential disabled voices enable inclusion to be championed, putting lived experience in the heart of conversations, while challenging systemic barriers.

For the first time the Disabled Leadres Network and the AT2030 programme are coming together to amplify its global voice and provide a unique opportunity to bring together exceptional and emerging disabled leaders alongside established talent on a new project ‘DLN: Global’.

What will the ‘DLN: Global’ do

From public events and communication and dissemination opportunities, we’ll be supporting disabled leaders to profile and amplify their stories developing into a series of events and outputs. The aim is to build disabled leadership with a focus on low- and middle- income countries.

Why is this important

To create change at a local, national or international scale disabled leadership is required. Active and influential disabled voices enable inclusion to be championed, putting lived experience in the heart of conversations, while challenging systemic barriers. We know that to overcome stigma, amplify co-design and co-creation and build disabled talent we need visible disabled leadership, alongside pipelines to support emerging disabled potential. By spotlighting disabled leadership stories and experiences we can provide peer-knowledge sharing, while amplifying the success of those that are already influencing change.

With leadership comes the opportunity for impact. This impact is both within and beyond the disabled community, both to forge new pathways and evidence the value of diverse representation and decision making. By supporting and profiling disabled leadership we aim to build momentum, share insights and enhance the visibility of disabled talent with a focus on low- and middle- income countries.

The Disabled Leaders Network (DLN) amplifies disabled talent through community, capacity building and connection. The member-led DLN network creates opportunities for learning, collaboration and collective action, advocating for inclusion, while empowering disabled-led change. By bridging this rich network with global amplification and storytelling alongside the AT2030 global footprint, we can support and showcase disabled leaders in low- middle- income countries with the aim of building collective advocacy, and amplifying change.

‘DLN: Global’ will profile and amplify stories from DLN’s global membership, while also creating moments of discussion and dialogue.
