International Disability Alliance, Global Disability Innovation Hub, UK aid funded AT2030 programme and ATscale, the Global Partnership for Assistive Technology are delighted to be launching the Global Assistive Technology User Network, a global platform for collaboration, networking, exchange and conversation about Assistive Technologies.

The network will be a collective discussion forum to unite assistive technology (AT) users and amplify their voices in the global AT movement. To achieve this, the network has set out several specific objectives, including connecting AT users, and those from underrepresented disability groups worldwide, to a common global platform, providing a forum for AT users to discuss issues and ideas, and facilitating the sharing of AT information, policies, programs, and resources to empower AT users.

The Global Assistive Technology User Network will be supported by means of a WhatsApp group (joining details will be shared at the webinar), an email listserv (to be launched), a dedicated web page on the IDA platform and a calendar of AT related events.

To get involved, email Amba Salelkar, Senior Manager of the IDA Helpdesk (asalelkar@ida-secretariat.org).

This launch event will explaining the purpose of the network, its mechanisms, what to expect, while also bringing in perspectives of OPDs and other AT stakeholders on the need for greater participation in AT. It is open to all, but AT users, practitioners and OPDs might find the discussions especially relevant.
