Webinar: Introducing the Global OPD Map
The Global OPD/DPO Map is an open-source data collection project, resulting in the largest-ever documentation of advocacy groups led by disabled voices in the transnational disability community.
We currently have over 2,000 organisations on the map. Our aim is to support the visibility of OPDs/DPOs, to help them find one another, and to increase their visibility to potential members, partners, collaborators and funders.
The map is funded by the UK International Development AT2030 programme, led by Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub).
The Global OPD/DPO Map is now live as a free, public tool. This map is in its infancy. We hope to build this resource into a hub of knowledge, information, and movement-building. Our ambition is to support OPDs/DPOs in accessing key materials and resources, while encouraging and supporting smoother paths for funders or partners to identify and reach OPDs/DPOs globally.
Keeping OPDs/DPOs visible and connected is critical. During this webinar, we’ll hear from global OPD/DPO leaders, the curators of the Map, and funders themselves, exploring the role of this important new resource, and where bottlenecks are currently experienced.
We'll briefly show the Map’s functionality, followed by a panel reflecting on the importance of OPDs/DPOs being able to network and collaborate in the sector.
Speakers:
- Patience Ogolo Dickinson, Advocacy for Women with Disabilities Initiative, (Nigeria)
- Germán Parodi, The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies (the Americas and beyond)
- Anna Landre, Curator of OPD/DPO map
The session will be delivered in English with English captions and International Sign Language.
