NEPCON Conference 2024

A presentation made at the 2nd NEPOCON (Nepal Prosthetics and Orthotics) conference in May 2024 by five members of the project team led by Ram Chandra Thapa from Zener Technologies in Nepal, and Ben Oldfrey from UCL, on A Global-Local Innovation Approach for Appropriate Technology in LMICs: A Case Study in Nepal. The presentation sets out how the team have approached answering the critical research question of how to leverage local technologies, materials and skills to test and build an enhanced and sustainable prosthetics service in Nepal, with the support of AT2030. The presenters consider technology, product and person perspectives. The presentation was attended by representatives of the AT sector, development agencies, governments, health service providers and academics/researchers.
