I work as a researcher in Kota Kita Foundation – a non-profit organization working on urban issues, based in Solo, Indonesia. As part of AT2030 programme, I lead the action research in the informal settlements in Indonesia to scope community-led solutions to AT and co-production of AT interventions. Using participatory approach in the research, my team aims to create spaces for articulation of citizenship by the people living in neighbourhoods, including persons with disabilities and AT users.
I hope the research programme can enable an inclusive environment and build community capacity to reduce the stigma of persons with disability and AT users. Joining the AT2030 programme gives me an opportunity to better understand the conditions and aspirations of people in lower-income, informal neighbourhoods; and how it affects the need, supply and demand for AT. It excites me to see what is possible when the community works together.
